Reviews
On Tuesday and Wednesday the 31st and 1st April, a cast of more than thirty pupils from Years Seven & Eight at Calversyke Middle School put on the production of Joseph & His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. They performed for around one hundred an eighty people both nights, and then performed in front of the school on the morning of 2nd April. All the cast made a wonderful effort and were backed by a chorus of people who came from all parts of the school.
The audience were OK on the first night but the second nights audience were the best, and the found parts to laugh at beyond our imagination. They loved the performance of Mr & Mrs Potiphar, Pharaoh, Reuben, Benjamin but the star of the show was Joseph, played by Matthew Gardner. The Narrators and Brothers had quite large parts and really made the performance a success.
Matthew Gardner wrote a song to thank Mr Brett and the other teachers that helped make the scenery etc. The song brought Mr Brett, Headteacher and Director to tears. Mrs Clayton & Thomas Holland organised an Oscar for Mr Brett for best Director. Although Blast Off, performed two years ago was a big success I think this was the best.
Thanks to Mrs Wright who helped the chorus, Mrs Webb who helped the narrators, Mrs Potts who played the keyboard and Emma Yaxley who was Mrs Potts assistant.

On the 31st March & 1st April the cast and chorus of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat performed for people across our local community. The cast made wonderful effort. The audience liked Gemma Cox as Mrs Potiphar. Mr Potiphar played by Thomas Golding, danced his way into the audiences heart. The star of the show was Matthew Gardner who played Joseph. The Narrators held the show together and had a big part in the production. and had the confidence to sing by themselves. The narrators are Katy Holland, Tracey Feather and Eppie Lowther.
The colourful production was the best Mr Brett has put together in the last three years.
Emma Yaxley was the best help Mrs Potts could have had on the keyboard.

... a truly memorable evening
This is without a doubt, the most enjoyable and engaging evening that I have ever spent at Calversyke - and a great deal better than many I have spent in far greater theatres. An that includes some well known professional venues.
Thank you to all of you; pupils, staff and friends for all the work you have put into this production. Thank you for your enthusiasm. For the smiles on the faces of the choir. For Joseph's final song. For the real joy you shared with me, sitting in the dark at the back row of the audience.
Chris Wright
I suppose we've got quite used to these excellent productions but Joseph excelled itself.
The singing was delightful, many congratulations on a first rate performance.

What a tremendous achievement...
There were some wonderful moments and a real sense of commitment, determination and pride was reflected in the expressions of many.
Dave Jobbings, Inspector/Adviser

Miles Mizon, Headteacher Greenhead Grammar School
.. a magnificent performance.
All the cast were excellent but Joseph, Elvis and the three narrators were outstanding. You have great talent in the school, for which you and the staff deserve much credit for identifying this and giving such an opportunity for showing it off.
John Dawson, Chairman of Governors
