The beginnings of a nostalgia section! I have very happy memories of my days at Heaton Middle School. Unfortunately I do not have too many pictures from this time and the quality is not brilliant. The pictures used though do have significance in that they are reminders of some of the positive aspects of my time at the school. There's the library which I helped set up and run, the many trips (Hawkshead, Ashover, Sutherland Lodge, London and Marrick Priory), the pantomimes and lavish Nativity plays.
The snow picture? I suppose it reminds me of time before the National Curriculum when it felt OK to spend a little time with children on activities which were intended as stimulation for the more academic aspects of the curriculum. I remember the snowy afternoon very well and it led to some brilliant English work. We eventually found Shabana when the snow melted - we had buried her to provide a learning experience.
